Modern VC Deployment for Remote Mining Operations

We successfully deployed a full-scale, Microsoft Teams-native video conferencing system at Blanket Mine in Gwanda to support executive meetings, remote collaboration, and site-to-HQ communication.

Hardware & Integration:
Installed a complete Yealink MVC840 solution with the following components:

x2 UVC86 intelligent tracking cameras

x2 MTouch II control panels

x2 CM20 ceiling microphones and x4 CS10 speakers for immersive audio

x1 AVHub and x1 MCore i5 mini-PC for Teams Rooms integration

x1 Room Sensor and BYOD MVC Extender for added flexibility

x2 WP40 wireless presentation units

Custom Room Optimization:

Tested and optimized microphone placement with the client for maximum clarity.

Implemented speaker tracking and active voice pickup—performance verified during a live session with the Managing Director.

Coordinated enhancements like cupboard shelving, airflow improvements, HDMI splitting, and interactive display touch-back connectivity.

Network & Configuration:

Connected to a segmented MikroTik Layer 3 network with static routes and secure subnetting

Outcome:
The deployment has modernized Blanket Mine’s boardroom, enabling seamless, high-quality Teams meetings in a remote mining environment. This setup bridges the gap between operations and executives—remotely and reliably.
