VOIP Deployment – Retail Customer Zimbabwe
Project type
VOIP
Date
November 2024
Location
Harare , Zimbabwe
We designed and implemented a centralized VoIP solution for a large retail network, deploying dual Yeastar P570 PBX systems to connect 64 branches over existing MPLS VPN infrastructure. This modernization initiative enabled significant cost savings by routing inter-branch calls over the internal network instead of traditional PSTN lines.
Project Highlights
Central PBX Architecture: Deployed two Yeastar P570 PBX systems to serve as the core of a nationwide IP telephony network.
Network Integration: Leveraged the existing MPLS VPN to create a secure, high-performance backbone for voice traffic between all branches.
Device Rollout: Integrated over 500 IP phone extensions across Cisco, Fanvil, and Yealink devices, ensuring flexibility and compatibility.
Interoperability: Achieved seamless integration with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and legacy systems using a custom-built Asterisk-based Session Border Controller (SBC).
Scalability & Resilience: Built a future-ready telephony platform that is scalable, fault-tolerant, and centrally managed.
Outcome
This deployment unified voice communication across all branches, reduced ongoing telecom costs, and established a resilient and scalable VoIP infrastructure ready to support future growth and advanced telephony features.
